Who We Are

Located in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley along the I-81 corridor, Shenandoah County Public Schools has over 1,000 teaching and support staff who serve more than 5,600 students (PK-12) in ten schools: three elementary, three middle, three high, and one career and technical school.

Shenandoah County Public Schools also hosts the Massanutten Regional Governor’s School, which serves students from Shenandoah, Page, and Rockingham Counties and the City of Harrisonburg.

    Central's Witherow Named Volleyball Player of the Year

    Congratulations to Central High School senior Hadley Witherow on being named the Northern Virginia Daily 2025 Volleyball Player of the Year.

    Witherow finished off her stellar high school volleyball career with her best season yet, posting an area-best 278 kills, a team-best 44 aces and a team-best 170 digs. She also finished second all-time in school history in kills for the Falcons.

    Strasburg's Dellinger Named Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year

    Congratulations to Strasburg sophomore Piper Dellinger on being named the Northern Virginia Daily 2025 Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year! Piper gave cross country a try this season and helped lead the Rams to success, while also finishing sixth overall in the Class 2 State Championships.

    Congratulations to Stonewall Jackson High School junior Marcus Bowley on being named the Northern Virginia Daily 2025 Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year! Marcus helped lead the Generals to the Bull Run District and Region 2B team titles, and a third-place finish at the Class 2 state meet.

    Ms. Munson and the Strasburg High School Science Department held their annual Science Fair in the gym on Tuesday. Students displayed and explained their projects, complete with hypothesis, materials, procedure and conclusion!

    The Peter Muhlenberg Middle School 6th, 7th and 8th grade orchestras performed seven songs, including "Jingle Bells", "First Christmas March" and "A Joyful Celebration", as part of their Winter Concert last week. Great job everyone!

    Cell Phone Free Education

    Following approval of a new policy by the Shenandoah County School Board, SCPS schools began instituting a bell-to-bell policy that requires all students to put away their cell phones and personal electronic communication devices, including airpods and smart watches, for the entirety of the school day.     Edulog Parent Portal App Info for Bus Riders

    The Edulog Parent Portal app is free to parents, caregivers, and students. It will show you what time the bus will be at your stop and the current GPS location of the bus. WWRES 2nd Graders Participate In Roving Chef Event

Second graders at W. W. Robinson Elementary got a special treat on Friday when they got to take part in a group Roving Chef with our Food Services staff and SFE! After enjoying their lunch and playing a couple holiday-themed games, students followed the directions on their recipe cards and put together delicious Cookie Crumble Cups, which they happily sampled once they were finished.

The Strasburg High School choir, comprised of students in On a Side Note and the Singing Rams, kicked off the annual Music Winter Extravaganza. Singing a variety of holiday and winter-themed hits, like "Jingle Bell Rock," "Run Rudolph Run," and "Carol of the Bells" under the direction of Choir Director Kylene Robinson, they delivered a fantastic performance in front of a packed gym.

Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office SRO R.A. Racey Jr. and Sheriff Tim Carter celebrated all of the Sandy Hook Elementary 5th graders for completing the 10-week course, which included educational talks, role play scenarios and more to help students build the skills to be able to say no not just to drugs, but also bullying and other negative situations, and to help them see the importance of being responsible students, classmates and community members.
